Numerical Analysis of Sulfamerazine Solubility in Acetonitrile + 1-Propanol Cosolvent Mixtures at Different Temperatures

The current challenges of the pharmaceutical industry regarding environmental impact caused by its waste have led to design and development more efficient industrial processes. In this context, solubility studies are at core different processes, such as formulation, preformulation, synthesis, purification, recrystallization, quantification, quality control. This research evaluates sulfamerazine (SMR) in acetonitrile + 1-propanol cosolvent mixtures nine temperature levels with UV/vis spectrophotometry using vial-shake method. According analysis solid phase equilibrium differential scanning calorimetry, there were no polymorphic changes. minimal SMR was reached 278.15 K, maximal 313.15 K. all cases, process endothermic dependent on composition, solution enthalpy drove process. data well correlated van’t Hoff, Yalkowsky–Roseman–van’t Apelblat, Buchowski–Ksiazczak λh, Yaws, NRTL, Wilson, modified Wilson models, YR model being one most attractive because it presented an excellent prediction percentage from four sets experimental data. depends affinity for increase.
